ROBBIE WILLIAMS killed two birds with one stone when he dropped into the Beeb yesterday.

He sang on Radio 1 DJ FEARNE COTTON's lunchtime show Live Lounge and also caught up with old TAKE THAT pal GARY BARLOW.

The manband and other top names of pop and rock were at the BBC's Maida Vale Studios in north London rehearsing for tonight's Children In Need concert at the Royal Albert Hall.

And as I told you, plans are afoot for Robbie to join Gary and his other old Take That mates MARK OWEN, JASON ORANGE and HOWARD DONALD on stage for the first time in 14 years. The lads are all due to sing with SIR PAUL McCARTNEY.

All a bit special - and yesterday Robbie and Gary put on a reunited front as they posed with Fearne.

Meanwhile, Robbie's battle to topple JLS from the top of the albums chart is going down to the wire. Early in the week he led the X Factor lads by 5,000 sales. But by Tuesday night they had narrowed the gap to 2,000.

Rob's Reality Killed The Video Star had sold 119,000 copies, as he eyes his ninth UK No1 album. The youngsters' self-titled debut had notched up 117,000 sales.
