Mark winning his booze battle
GOOD news for TAKE THAT fans wondering how MARK OWEN has been getting on battling his booze demons.
The latest from Mark's camp is that the singer, who admitted a ten-year drink problem, has now gone three months without a drop and is making brilliant progress.
He's also having a really productive spell in the studio, cracking out new material. A pal of the singer told me: "Mark is getting better and stronger every day. He's through the worst of it with the booze, although there's still a long road ahead.
"He's getting on well at home and the studio sessions couldn't be going better."
While Mark's busy writing in London, fellow Take That-ers GARY BARLOW and ROBBIE WILLIAMS are in Los Angeles polishing off new material. Gaz and Rob's rekindled relationship is going from strength to strength.
Their joint-single, Shame, comes out later this year, just ahead of the release of Robbie's greatest hits album.
Looks like it's shaping up for a huge 2011 for Take That.

Mark Owen and Vernon Kay are on the Dad Of The Year 2010 shortlist
Naughty boys Mark Owen and Vernon Kay are on the shortlist for Dad Of The Year 2010.
They spent most of this year grovelling to their wives after Mark admitted "over 10 affairs" and Vernon got caught out sex-texting.
But their kids still love them and so do the public after voting for them in the Bounty parenting poll.

OWEN THE LONELY
TROUBLED MARK OWEN cuts a lonely figure as he takes a solitary stroll to the shops.
The TAKE THAT star looked deep in thought during his two-hour wander.
Mark, 38 - battling to save his marriage to wife EMMA after admitting ten affairs to The Sun - sported a chunky cardigan and boots despite the warm weather in London.
Another walker said: "He kept his head down and looked pensive and pale. He didn't want to make eye contact with anyone."
Mark checked into booze rehab in March but is back living with Emma, 33, and their children Elwood, three, and one-year-old Willow Rose.
He has kept his wedding ring on throughout. But Emma - snapped the same day talking on her phone - is yet to put hers back on.
Mark later picked up two bags of groceries at a branch of Sainsbury's - bearing the slogan: "I'm in it for life."
Emma has agreed not to divorce him for the sake of their kids. But they have put on hold plans to move from their home in Wandsworth, South West London, to a larger place.

We're all kinds of mixed up about Mark Owen getting back with his wife
According to friends of the couple, Emma has taken Mark back - but warned him that it's a "one strike and you're out" situation. "Mark has done his time and is itching to get out and resume family life," is the word from the secret source. "He has not touched alcohol in five weeks and has done a lot of navel gazing as well as receiving serious professional counsel. Emma knows he is a great dad and has agreed to give their marriage one more crack on the proviso he behaves himself, doesn’t so much as look at another woman and attends marriage counselling as and when. Mark has agreed to all terms."
But just because Mark's stopped putting his willy in other ladies, it doesn't mean he'll be keeping it tucked away just below that dolphin tattoo - apparently he's now all broody: "He has even suggested they try for another baby to cement their relationship. Another influence was Gary Barlow, who has been an absolute rock for both Emma and Mark. He has been happily married for ten years and has been advising his bandmate, telling him to pull his socks up. It was the talking to he needed."
So, Mark's going to become as boring as Gary, then. Er, great. Oh well, we've still got Jason and Howard to keep things a bit sexy...

Mark reunited with wife
TAKE That's Mark Owen is seen out with his wife for the first time since he went to booze rehab following revelations of his serial affairs.
The pin-up, 38, looked glum as he strolled in the sun with redhead Emma - who is still not wearing her wedding ring - and their two children.
Mark, who WAS wearing his ring, pushed a buggy as 33-year-old Emma - mother of son Elwood, three, and daughter Willow Rose, one - walked several paces ahead of him.
The singer, whose Take That hits include Back For Good, was seen over the weekend as the family walked in Wandsworth, South West London.
Last month Mark confessed to The Sun how he cheated on Emma with ten women, and told how he had been fighting a serious drink problem for ten years.
He promised he would change, and checked into rehab to beat his drunkenness.
Emma agreed not to divorce him for the sake of their kids - but the pair have put on hold plans to move to a larger home.
Step forward ... Mark out with wife Emma

Mark Owen back for good with wife
Love-rat Mark Owen has been taken back for good by his long-suffering wife, The People can reveal.
And friends say the Take That idol is overjoyed he's been given a new start by Emma - even though he cheated on her with at least 10 women.
Mark, 38, has spent the past month battling booze problems at a secret rehab clinic after admitting the flings.
And pals feared mum-of-two Emma, 33, had ditched him for ever after she repeatedly shunned his desperate pleas to visit him.
But a source close to Mark said last night: "As far as a return home goes the phrase is 'the door is ajar' "Emma feels he's done everything he can to make it up to her and she has made sure he's learnt his lesson.
"Mark now has a genuine opportunity to move back in and show he's changed his ways.
"They're committed to making this work so everyone's hoping they can patch things up.
"But make no mistake - they know they face a long journey to get things back on track."
The source went on: "Their kids are at the centre of their thoughts.
"Emma believes she and Mark have to do everything they can to stay together and give them the best upbringing they can.
"And Mark is very much aware of his responsibilities as a dad and husband." The insider added: "Emma needed time to herself to work out what would be best for her children.
"She has gone through every emotion and there were times when the future of their marriage was in severe Emma doubt."
Mark has he can to Mark will now return to the plush London home he shares with Emma and their children Elwood, four, and Willow Rose, one, when he finally leaves rehab.
The couple - who have been together for six years - held crisis talks last week over the explosive revelations of Mark's drink-fuelled romps with a string of Take That fans.
Multi-millionaire Mark first fell for actress Emma, who has appeared in TV hits Doctors and The Bill, after they met in 2004.
They got engaged two years later and married in church in Scotland last November.
But the pair looked to be destined for the divorce courts just four weeks ago after Mark's cheating confession which stunned the legions of adoring women who had always believed in the fresh-faced star's goody-goody image.
After coming clean to heartbroken Emma about his serial cheating, Mark made a tearful public apology.
He sobbed: "I'm really sorry. Emma's really strong and I know she will do what's right for her and the kids.
"I support that and I really appreciate that.
"She loved me - she still does me - and I have let her down.
"You realise what you have done when you face up to it and the mistakes you have made."
Since then Mark - a former winner of C4's Celeb Big Brother - has been helped by his exbandmate Robbie Williams who has also had drink problems.

Take That: Owen em reabilitação

Emma Takes That Mark back
SHE hasn't been to visit him in rehab for two weeks but MARK OWEN's distraught wife EMMA will soon be seeing a lot more of him.
Because, like most wives of cheating celebs, she's made the decision to Take That star Back For Good.
But I hear she wants to Relight the Fire in their relationship by moving into a different mansion.
My source revealed: "Mark is due out of rehab for his drinking imminently and Emma has decided she's going to give him another go.
"But she's made it completely clear things have to change and this is his last chance.
"If he lets her down again the door will be shut for good."
Actress Emma is planning to set up the family - including their son Elwood, three, and daughter Willow Rose, one - in a new house to give them a fresh start after he admitted to ten flings recently.
An insider close to the couple told me: "She's got her eye on a beautiful house in south-west London.
"It's a project she can focus on and try and stop thinking about her marriage to Mark."
I Pray Emma has made the right decision and Mark will respect their marriage from now on.

Mark Owen reveals drink problem
The singer - who also admitted he had been a heavy cannabis user and still smokes the occasional joint - said: "I have had issues for a long time - I've drunk for the last 10 years and it got to a bad point."
He went on: "I never really saw the problem. I carried on drinking through my relationship with Emma and it got to the point where she asked me to stop. I've never liked drinking during the day but once the kids went to bed, I'd get the bottle open and off I went. I have been a prat. I wasn't thinking - I don't think logically when I'm drunk. I'm not the person I want to be when I'm drunk. I can be a nightmare to live with."
Referring to his flings, the star said: "I want to make it absolutely clear I am not using the drink as an excuse. I've been living with the guilt. Maybe the drink was my way of dealing with the guilt."

Mark Owen and wife arrive home for crunch talks after he confesses to TEN affairs

Strain: Mark Owen's wife Emma wasn't wearing her wedding ring as the couple returned to their south London home yesterday
The marriage of Take That singer Mark Owen was on the rocks last night after he admitted cheating on his wife ten times.
Owen, 38, was forced to break the news to wife Emma on Tuesday after one of the girls threatened to tell her about their five-year entanglement.
Yesterday he confessed in public to all ten flings, saying: 'I have really let her [Emma] down. Friends, everybody, I feel like I have let everyone down.'
Friends of the couple say it is 'too early' to tell if the marriage can be saved.
The pair have two children - Elwood, three, and Willow Rose, one - but only wed last October after a courtship of five years.
One of Owen's affairs, with accounts manager Neva Hanley, 24, carried on for most of that time, with the lovers sharing a final night together just weeks before his wedding.
Another of their encounters took place a week after the birth of his daughter.
Other infidelities were drunken one night stands while he was on tour with his band.
The star, who admitted his drinking had affected his marriage, tried desperately to apologise to Emma when he came clean on Tuesday, fearing Miss Hanley was about to sell her story.
Friends alleged she had threatened to come to his family home or call his wife.
The singer said yesterday: 'I have been an idiot. It's about me, my mistakes. Nobody else is to blame. I have been living with the guilt.
'It has always been there, you carry it around with you.It held me back in my relationship with Emma. I wouldn't have done any of this if I had my time again.I am halfway through my life now and this, in a way, is a lesson. You've got to learn and that's what I am going to do.'
The shattered-looking star and his wife arrived back at their home in Wandsworth, South London, yesterday after spending the night apart.
A friend said: 'Mark has just dropped an almighty bomb on Emma. She always suspected he was cheating, but he always denied it.
'She is extremely strong-willed and it is too early to say whether she will stay with Mark. She wants to do what is right for the children. She doesn't know what to do yet.
Mark confessed all to Emma on Tuesday - he had an inkling what Neva was going to do -and they did not spend Wednesday day or night together. Emma is devastated, while Mark feels terrible, but this is something he has been dragging around for years. Neva basically stayed as a friend, any time he had a problem, he would be in touch with her, but the relationship went too far.'
Miss Hanley, who was brought up in a middle-class family in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, changed her name from Victoria to Neva when she moved to London to go to dance school.
She appeared in several dance videos and adverts, including one for Cornetto ice cream.
On her Twitter page, Miss Hanley calls herself a 'slightly lost dancer, advert-sellout, fish keeper, explicit cupcake lover and gin junkie'. Yesterday, as the story of her affair came out, she boasted on her page: 'Going to stamp on someone's parade.'

Take That's Mark Owen and wife arrive home for crunch talks after he confesses to TEN affairs
- Father-of-two blames alcohol for his love-cheat behaviour
- Star gave one lover £9,000 after calling off affair
The couple arrived together in a black Lexus this afternoon and the Take That singer sheepishly followed Emma, who looked tired and drained, into their martial home.
The singer, 38, made the shock revelation in a tell-all interview with a newspaper today, blaming a long battle with alcohol for his philandering ways.
He said he was 'deeply sorry' for the pain he had caused Emma, whom he married in October after more than five years together.
The couple have two children - Elwood, three, and Willow Rose, one.
Crisis talks: The couple, who have two children together, quickly headed inside the marital home
It will come as a massive shock to his fans but by coming clean today in his confession with the Sun, Owen is using the time honoured love-rat tactic to deflect the impact of a kiss and tell.

I'm a love-cheat, a drunk and a complete idiot
Children
The pair were an item long before they finally married in a Scottish castle last October, watched by smiling bandmates Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Jason Orange.
And they have two children - Elwood, three, and Willow Rose, one.
One of Mark's affairs - with accounts manager Neva Hanley, 24 - carried on for the best part of five years.
The others were drunken one-night stands with girls while Take That were on tour.
Mark said: "I don't know how many girls there were in all. Maybe ten."
Yesterday he admitted everything to unsuspecting Emma as he tried desperately to draw a line under his betrayal and forge a new beginning with her.
The star - who insists he has been faithful to Emma since their wedding - said: "I have been living with the guilt. It has always been there - you carry it around with you.
It held me back in my relationship with Emma. I wouldn't have done any of this if I had my time again.
I am halfway through my life now and this, in a way, is a lesson. You've got to learn and that's what I am going to do.
Emma is really strong and I know she will do what is right for her and the kids.
I support that and I really appreciate that.
She loved me - she still does love me - and I have let her down. That's the truth of it.
You realise what you have done when you face up to it and the mistakes you have made.
And I have really let her down. Friends, everybody. I feel like I have let everyone down.
Mark, who also admits his behaviour can be "difficult," added: "I wish I had told Emma about this before we got married and come clean then.
Bedded
"I've done it now. It wouldn't be a second chance, it would be the 100th chance she has given me."
In another confession, he told how he last bedded Neva in September - just weeks before he wed Emma.
The other members of Take That, who have sold more than 30million albums worldwide, with 11 No1 singles, knew NOTHING about her.
Mark met posh Neva when she was just 19 on a platform at Preston railway station in September 2004, two years after he won the second series of Celebrity Big Brother.
They became friends - and three weeks later he flew her to Los Angeles, where they had sex in Hollywood's Best Western hotel.
Three months later Mark invited Neva to his Lake District home, where they spent a night smoking cannabis, drinking vodka and having sex.
The pair later cooled their relationship but kept in touch and met up occasionally at hotels.
A week after Mark's daughter was born, they had another night of passion.
Their final romp came at the Gore Hotel in Kensington, West London.
Neva told The Sun: "We had sex five times that night. That's when I started to feel really guilty."
She added: "The lie has gone on for too long. I can't do this to Mark's family any more."
Mark said: "When I met Neva in September it was because I was having a tough time with Emma. I wasn't feeling very good about myself or the future and I went down my phonebook, found her number and we met up.
Chance
"After that last meeting I realised I had to try to sort my life out. I had to change the person I was. The wedding for me was a new slate and a new start. In my head there was never a time when I was doubting getting married. It was a chance for me to put it all behind me and not make the mistakes I had made in the past."
Mark met Neva last month and told her his family came first and she had to keep her distance.
The mega-rich star has posted a series of cheques totalling £12,000 to her from his private account over the last year, including £9,000 since he tied the knot with Emma, 33.
He said: "She phoned me the week before I got married. She said she had lost her job and was going to lose her flat - and asked if I could help her out.
"I have known her for years so I said, 'Of course.' In all I paid her about £12k, the last one just last week.
"When I have been in a bad way, when I have needed a bit of support, she has been there for me. All the other girls were one night stands. On tour. When I was away from home on wild nights out, which was every night. I'm not in contact with any of them.
"It wasn't the girls' fault, it was mine. I would be up for it and looking for it. I wasn't thinking straight. The next day I would think, 'Oh f***.' It was regret - disappointment in myself. I had been drinking. I wouldn't have the nerve to talk to a girl when I'm not drunk."
He added: "I wasn't paying Neva with the intention of keeping her quiet. I'd have no money left if I was paying them all off.
"None of the boys knew about her. I told them about her yesterday. She was at gigs but they never met her."
Better
Mark admitted his drinking had caused cracks in his relationship with Emma - and said he had been "not very nice to live with".
He added: "I denied to her I was having an affair when things were going on. It was getting better and better, me and Em. We met and within a year and a half she was pregnant with our first beautiful boy, Elwood. And when you have kids, things change. I feel like I am getting to know Em more and more every day. I love her to death but our relationship hasn't always been great, because of me. She has tried really hard to support me. Life was hard, I guess. I let Emma down. I was selfish and stubborn."
"Everything that has happened to me I have brought on myself. If ever we argued it was down to me."
Mark said he'd had nothing to do with other girls since his wedding.
He added: "I'm proud of that. I know that sounds really stupid but on our wedding day, for me the ring is really important and I want to be true to my word.
"It was a big change for me to be able to do that. It was a big moment for me, my wedding day. On many levels it was a fresh start and that was how I was looking at it."
Mark said he was addressing his booze problem. He added: "I have noticed a change since I stopped drinking, but I am quite difficult. It wasn't the sunshine Emma was hoping for but it is better. I have always liked a drink and I am a party man."
The star went on to declare that coming clean about his affairs might be the best thing that has happened to him. He said:
This has to happen for me to move on. It would have always been there. I could never have been fully open with Emma, with myself, with anybody. Now I can.
I can start again. That's how I feel.
I wish I had realised about my drinking earlier.
Emma is a strong girl. She has to do what is right for her and the kids. And I am here if she wants me.
I want to do the right thing now for the kids and Emma.
It's the best thing in the world having kids. I feel blessed and I am really sorry that I have done this to them and to Emma.
She has done a lot of good for me, Emma has. She is absolutely without doubt the only person I want to be with for the rest of my life.
She is the best thing that has happened to me. I want us to grow together and be together - but let's see what happens.
He added: "I really wanted for me and Emma to move on when we got married and not make the same mistakes.
"It's going to do good in the long run. It's for the best, this.
"In situations like this people surprise you. Friendships and the words people send. I feel supported - an idiot like me."

Mark - My 10 affairs
MARRIED Take That star Mark Owen last night sensationally confessed to having TEN affairs.
Mark, 38, broke the news of his cheating to Emma, mum of their two kids, at their London home yesterday.
He said: "She loves me and I let her down. I'm really sorry."
The multi-millionaire singer blamed a long battle with booze for his two-timing, which will shock millions of the chart-topping band's adoring fans.
And he told The Sun: "I have been an idiot, a d***head, a k***head. All of the above and more."

His other indiscretions were alcohol-fuelled one-night stands that took place while he was on various tours with the band.
'I don't know how many girls there were in all. Maybe ten,' he told the newspaper.
His secret relationship with Hanley began in 2004 when they met on a train station platform in Preston.
He flew her Los Angeles three weeks later which marked the beginning of their physical relationship.
They soon met up again at his Lake District home where they smoked cannabis and drank vodka together before having sex.
They continued to meet up occasionally in various hotels - they were together just one week after Owen's daughter was born and a month before his wedding day.
He also admitted to sending her £12,000 in cheques from his personal account, including £9,000 after he finally called off the affair following his nuptials in Scotland late last year.
He insists the money was not sent in an effort to buy her silence.

'I denied to her I was having an affair when things were going on. I want to do the right thing now for the kids and Emma. She is absolutely without a doubt the only person I want to be with for the rest of my life.'
He also claimed his Take That bandmates Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Jason Orange were unaware of his affair with Hanley, but he did not say if they knew of his many liaisons on tour.
In a statement released today, Owen, 38, said: 'I'm so deeply sorry for the pain my actions have caused my family and friends.
'I'd like to ask the media to please respect the privacy of my wife and children during this difficult time.'
