Ever since Robbie Williams rejoined Take That, expectations have been high. But after getting our hands on the five-piece band's comeback single, The Flood, we're relieved to report it's a real corker. Anthemic, upbeat and irritatingly catchy, we'll stake our last glass of champagne on the Stuart Price-produced track sailing straight to No1 on its November 14 release.
Co-written by Take That, it refers back to their acrimo-nious split but insists they now realise they work better together than apart. Sniff - someone pass the Kleenex.
Our insider reveals: "The boys were unanimous The Flood should be their first single. It's incredibly catchy and a sure-fire hit. At the moment, the plan is to debut it live on The X Factor's Sunday night show because Simon Cowell is a big fan. The Flood is odds-on to be their biggest single ever."

Is it their best yet or is that just exuberance and promotion from Robbie for his first single with Take That since he left the band in 1995 or is there some truth to his bold statement? Well actually from the teaser I can categorically say the song is fantastic.
Is it as good as the singles from the previous two Take That Albums? Probably. But I would say that Robbie is most definitely right that it is better than any of the songs written prior to his 1995 departure from the band.
Take That are a more anthemic band than they were before they reformed and that anthemic style is more than evident in the new song which is as catchy as Greatest day or Patience.

This is Take That's first single to feature Robbie Williams who 're-joined' the band earlier this year. The song has that 'epic' feeling attached to it (very Stuart Price) however I'm not that fond of it. The chorus is very good but the verses so-so. Undoubtedly, "The Flood" being a good song or not it will go straight to number one on the UK charts, all due to the hype of Robbie's return.
